OK, I confess this is my first work of Amish fiction and what a work it is! J E B Spredemann has brought us four volumes, totaling over 600 pages of Amish adventures. Well, sort of adventures these are cautious, fragile tales designed to be spiritually uplifting.
I am not sure that I will be making a habit of reading this style of fiction, but I have to admit that I enjoyed these more than I thought I would. Occasionally, it’s nice to read some stories that are thoroughly morally upright, and which reflect the Christian values of our nation. Sure, we’re not all Amish but most of us share the same God, right?
